My alarm went off early Monday when it was dark and rainy, and I had no pressing deadlines. Why bother getting up? Same on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Every business has its seasons, and I’ve been doing this work long enough to know the patterns. I’ve learned to operate full speed ahead when my team is busy and not to panic when things are slower.
Our job in a slow season is to reassess, plan and focus on all the things we never have time to complete when we’re busy.
I KNOW this, but my problem is that I operate best when I’m busy. A sense of urgency gets me laser focused. Having plenty of time makes me feel, well, blah.
